QB D’Eriq King says he will return to Miami Hurricanes in 2021

Miami quarterback D’Eriq King announced on Saturday that he would return to the team in the 2021 season, which is great news for the Hurricanes.

King moved from Houston to Miami in 2020, believing he would have only one season to play. But, because of the coronavirus pandemic, all players received an extra year of eligibility if they chose to accept it.

In recent weeks, King said he had not yet made a decision about his future. On Saturday, he revealed on social media that he decided to return while hurricanes prepare for the Cheez-It Bowl against Oklahoma State on Tuesday in Orlando, Florida.

This season, King launched 2,573 yards, 22 touchdowns and just five interceptions, completing 63.6% of his passes. He also ran for 520 yards and four touchdowns.

With King, the Hurricanes have an elite quarterback to build for the first time since the mid-2000s.
