‘QAnon Shaman’ unrecognizable in Virginia prison photograph

The Capitol accused rioter nicknamed QAnon Shaman is showing off a new look – without horns – in this newly released photo.

The notorious shaman, whose real name is Jacob Chansley, is virtually unrecognizable without the furry headdress, horns and face painting in the prison photo released by officers in Alexandria, Va.

Mugs of federal inmates are difficult to obtain, according to Law and Crime, which published the photo.

In 2016, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals found that suspects may claim privacy interests in reserve photos. Most of the judges in that case decided that the photos “convey guilt” and “pursue the individual portrayed for decades,” the vehicle reported.

However, as in the case of Chansley, federal inmates are sometimes housed by state or local law enforcement agencies, who can release the images under state law.

On Thursday, Chansley was transferred to a prison in Virginia after a federal judge ordered authorities to supply him with organic food while he was in custody.

He was transferred to the Alexandria Detention Center after his lawyer argued that his client had gone nine days without eating because organic food was not served in prison in DC.

A judge ordered prison officials to provide a special diet, which attorney Albert Watkins said was part of his “shamanic belief system and way of life”.

Chansley has lost 20 pounds since moving from Arizona to Washington last week, Watkins told the judge.

On Thursday, District Judge Royce Lamberth said the US Marshals Service told the court that the District of Columbia Department of Corrections had asked Chansley to be transferred because they could not honor the court’s order to feed him organic food.

Chansley was indicted for civil disorder, obstruction, disorderly conduct and other charges for his role in the January 6 riots on the United States Capitol.

He was among a group of hundreds of pro-Trump supporters who went through the police and stormed the building while Congress met to vote to certify Joe Biden’s electoral victory.
