First Lady Jill Biden filmed a public service announcement to air during Discovery +, a beloved part of alternative programming aired at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
In the video, Biden is seen in the White House, sitting before a fire with the family’s two German shepherds, the first dogs Champ and Major.
“For many of us during this pandemic, our pets have been a source of joy and comfort,” she says. “And maybe a bark or two on a video conference.”
She then points out how pet owners owe their pets to stay healthy, so everyone should wear a mask – especially when walking their dogs.
Champ and Major’s appearance (not to mention First Lady Jill Biden) is adequate because part of the Puppy Bowl’s mission is to spread the word about how wonderful pets can be and how they deserve a second chance.
The Bidens have adopted a Major from the Delaware Humane Association and are believed to be the first shelter dog to live in the White House.
