Even a pandemic cannot prevent one of the most beautiful days on television.
The Puppy Bowl will be back on screen this year, Discovery announced this week.
The 17th annual three-hour event – which encourages people to adopt the adorable, furry participants – will air on Animal Planet and will air on the network’s new platform, Discovery +, starting at 2:00 pm Eastern Time on the Super Sunday Bowl, February 7.

During the Puppy Bowl, 70 puppies from Team Ruff and Team Fluff – from 22 shelters and rescues – will compete to win the “Lombarkey” trophy.
The event will show “how the mix of breeds of each dog can give them an edge in the field,” said the ad.

For the first time, it will also feature “adoptable puppy cheerleaders” behind the scenes.

“Fan-favorite elements, including slow-motion replays, nose-to-nose action from the famous water camera and aerial shots of the field from the brand new TEMPTATIONS Sky Box, are back this year, along with epic photos of player drones from players in the entire arena that bring the audience as close as possible to all the action in the game, “said the ad.

The event will show 70 puppies from Team Ruff and Team Fluff competing for the “Lombarkey” trophy.
