Publix, Kroger chains launch COVID-19 vaccines in Georgia

AUGUSTA, Georgia – Pharmacies in two supermarket chains serving CSRA are offering COVID-19 vaccines through a partnership with the state of Georgia.

Vaccines will be available at all Kroger pharmacies in Georgia and at the Publix store in Evans at 5119 Washington Road and at Publix in Martinez at 403 Furys Ferry Road.

Vaccines will be provided by appointment only and are intended for first responders, healthcare professionals, individuals aged 65 and over and their caregivers, residents and employees of long-term care institutions.

Vaccination at Publix stores will be available from Saturday. Qualified individuals can make appointments starting on Friday at publix.com/covidvaccine.

Vaccines with the Modern vaccine are available at Kroger stores starting on Friday. Appointments can be made online at Kroger.com/COVIDVaccine. In addition, Kroger is in the process of creating a toll-free number for those who prefer to schedule their appointment over the phone. The number will be announced as soon as it is established.

Vaccines are provided to eligible individuals, by appointment only, while supplies last, and at no cost to the individual.

Health insurance customers will need to bring their insurance card for the scheduled appointment. Medicare members must bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Customers without health insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.

Local Publix stores are among 108 across the state that will offer the vaccine.
