PUBG Mobile banned millions of players in just a few days

More than 2 million PUBG Mobile accounts were banned permanently from the mobile game in just a week, according to the game’s developers. PUBG Corp. and Krafton gave an update on the game’s anti-cheat efforts through the PUBG Mobile Twitter account to give you an idea of how many players have been hit by the ban pan recently. Players banned between December 11th and 17th totaled exactly 2,127,454, the PUBG Mobile said the creators, with three reasons identified as the main causes of the bans.

These reasons, unsurprisingly, were all the tricks that mobile players employed in PUBG Mobile to improve your chances of winning or otherwise manipulating parts of the game. The overview of the latest wave of bans said the top three things players were banned this month were the use of x-ray vision hacks, automatic targeting hacks and modifying character models.

Along with this information, separate infographics shared in the tweet showed how the distribution was between these three categories. A total of 31% of banned players were manipulating character models, 18% of them were using some form of x-ray vision and 15% of them were using automatic targeting hacks. The other reasons for the banning mentioned in the chart were speed hacks, damage area modification and “other” to cover anything else that players could do that was banable.

Also interesting to see was the spread of the ranks to which the banned accounts belonged. Most of the banned accounts were Bronze with 22%, which may not be very surprising for PUBG Mobile players, while the next largest demographic group was Diamond with 17% followed by a tie between Platinum and Crown with 15% each.

Both PUBG and PUBG Mobile have long been battling cheaters by banning accounts like these, so expect to see more anti-cheat updates like this in the future to detail how many accounts are banned at different intervals.
