The PS5 proved to be incredibly difficult to buy, with most shares being sold instantly. But you may have another chance before the end of the month, as Target is planning a series of further PS5 stock falls in the U.S.
The Spiel Times reports that new Target refuelings may appear at any time on January 19, 20, 21 or 22. This seems vague, but the Spiel Times correctly reported on a refueling of a previous Target PS5 on December 29; gave this as one of several possible PS5 replenishment dates. So while this is a rumor for now, it is worth listening to.
This new report explains that, once again, PS5 units will be shipped to individual Target stores. You can still buy them online if it’s fast enough.
But the exact amount of stock available varies depending on how many Target branches are in your region, whether they have received any PS5 stock and, if so, how much.
This is another caveat: one of the Spiel Times sources says that each store is only getting between 4 and 12 units, while another says it can be anywhere between a single PS5 and “more than 20”. Combine this low availability with the fact that you don’t know exactly when inventory will be available to order, and it’s almost definitely a matter of needing to check regularly to increase your chances of actually securing a PS5. And be lucky enough to live in an area with a larger number of consoles allocated.
Unfortunately, this is the current reality of finding where to buy the PS5: many difficulties and fingers crossed. Still, it is expected to show that more opportunities are always on the way.
In fact, Sony itself has begun announcing the refueling of the PS5, even though the lack of consoles is expected to last a few more months, at least.
