But Mario remains in first place for 1,000 units
An increase in PlayStation 5 shares this week had a major impact on the sale of its video games.
The biggest one is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The most popular PS5 game increased 172% in sales in physical boxes week by week, jumping from 7th to 2nd place. The game lost first place by just 1,000 units.
The other major PS5 exclusive on the charts is Demon’s Souls at No.21. The game was not in the Top 40 of the box last week, but it returns thanks to a 123% increase in sales.
Overall, sales of boxed games for PS5 increased by 64% over the previous week.
In first place is the Nintendo Switch game Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, which guarantees its third consecutive first place, despite a 38% drop in sales week by week.
There were some small new releases this week. Atlus’s Persona 5 Strikers debuts in 5th place on Switch and PS4 (PS4 represents 72% of sales). Meanwhile, Square Enix’s Bravely Default 2 on Nintendo Switch reaches 11th place
The last big performance this week is The Last of Us: Part 2. The PS4 game returns to the charts at No.3 after a 3992% increase in sales due to a price discount that brought the horror game down to less than £ 20 resellers maximum.
