Where to buy PS5: Check the PS5’s refill right now
Starting March 13 at 2 pm Eastern Time, PS5 refueling will not be available. Best Buy and Costco had stock on Friday, but the two retailers have sold out for now.

How to buy PS5: essential tips
Several sources have reported a trick by Amazon that increases your chances of hitting a PS5. We tested this trick four times and each time we managed to put a state-of-the-art console in our cart. (We tested it with an Xbox Series X, but there’s no reason why it wouldn’t work with a PS5). Other tips to follow include:
Get ready: Make sure you have all the correct two-factor payment and authentication card details available and on hand when you find a PS5 ready to buy. The units can be so fast that if you’re trying to find your credit card, you may miss the chance to secure a PS5 order.
Select a retailer: As you can see in our list above, there are many retailers to choose from, which can make the whole process of buying a PS5 a bit complicated. We suggest that you select some of the top retailers, such as Walmart and Amazon, and keep an eye on the PS5 landing pages.
Sign up for inventory alerts: Many retailers offer to alert you when the PS5 is replenished. We suggest that you subscribe to these services for the retailers that offer them.
Find the right product page: It may seem obvious, but make sure you are on the purchase page for the PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition. If you’re on a landing page, you could end up losing the moment new inventory arrives.
Log in to retailers: Be sure to sign in to all retailers where you already have an account. This will make things a lot faster when buying a PS5 if you find one for sale. And speed is essential today.
Keep updating and don’t give up: It can be a bit demoralizing to try to replenish your PS5’s stock when everything seems sold out. But regularly update the product pages to see what appears; you can be lucky. Also check back here for PS5 stock updates.
You can also make a habit of checking out Slickdeals, the online collection of offerings ranging from home appliances to game consoles like the PS5. The site has some forum topics specific to everything that PS5 users keep updating. If you follow the topic, go to the last page and keep updating to stay on top of the latest news.
It is also a good idea to check out some of the subscription-based wholesale retailers, such as Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Costco. You need a paid subscription to buy from these retailers, but that means reduced competition to get a unit there. It may be necessary to overpay for a package, but it is worth checking out these locations anyway. Currently, there are no online listings for these retailers to check, but it may be worth going to each physical store to try your luck at this point.
It has been quite a difficult process during this generation of console to catch any kind of next generation purchase. But as we approach the holidays, it is highly likely that there will be additional PS5s available for purchase at some point, as Sony will reach out to those who wish to purchase PS5s.

Unfortunately, one of the main reasons for the scarcity of PS5 consoles is due to the money changers. These opportunistic people have been using bots to scan retailers for PS5 inventory when it becomes available and buy as many consoles as they can at one time.
Once they have the highly desirable console, they will sell it at exorbitant prices, usually for thousands of dollars. Business Insider reported that a retailer managed to get 200 PS5 consoles and managed to sell them for more than $ 40,000.
While this is not illegal, it is not exactly the most morally sensible thing to do. But at least it’s not as bad as some people who pretend to sell PS5 consoles on eBay simply by posting pictures of the console and tricking people to bid for them when there was no PS5 on offer.
It may seem absurd to buy a PS5 for more than $ 1,000, especially since its line of launch games is not particularly deep. But with the coronavirus pandemic making more people stay at home, some PlayStation fans are clearly desperate to get their hands on a new console to keep them entertained.
We advise you to avoid buying from these resellers, fake or not. At $ 499, the PS5 is still a pretty expensive console and currently doesn’t have a huge game library. So if you can wait until the end of this year, there are likely to be a lot more PS5 games to choose from and Sony should have more consoles available.
