PS5 Pro in development? Here’s what the rumors say

If it is true that history repeats itself, the PS5 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor with the launch of a PS5 Pro – but when will it launch? And how much will it cost?

When it comes to cutting edge technology, the Xbox Series X reigns supreme as the most powerful game console in the world.

However, current speculation reveals that Sony may have a counterattack. Many fans believe that the PS5’s opportunity to dethrone the X Series comes in the form of a Pro edition.

It has been two months since the launch of the PS5 and the production of the PS4 Pro has ended. As the Playstation dynasty continues, a new model appears on the horizon.

Speculation about a Pro model really started when fans discovered a Sony patent published in July 2020. The patent describes a future gaming console that comes with two GPUs instead of one.

If used on PS5 Pro, it can be twice as powerful as the standard model.

The future launch of a Pro edition (probably together with a Slim makeover) proves that the future of games is beyond our imagination. Although its development has not yet been announced, here is everything we know so far about the possible launch, cost and specifications of a PS5 Pro.

PS5 Pro release date

If the future Pro is as revolutionary as the rumors suggest, it won’t be released anytime soon. Even so, some fans are already choosing to wait for a major reform.

It is important to note that the PS4 Pro version was released three years after the standard model. With that logic in mind, the PS5 Pro release date is likely to be around 2023, at the very least.

In addition, a new console will need time to keep up with the next technological advances, such as the 8k and the new HDMI 2.1.

How much will the PS5 Pro cost?

The cost of a professional is reduced to speculation.

Knowing that a standard PS5 costs $ 499 and a digital one costs $ 399, we can assume that a PS5 Pro will not be cheaper. But it may also not be more expensive.

Both PS4 and PS4 Pro cost $ 399 at launch, so it’s possible that the PS5 Pro will be priced at the same price as the standard PS5. A superior console for the same price as its predecessor doesn’t look too bad – as long as you’re willing to wait for it.

PlayStation 5 Pro Specifications

Now, for the juicy things! The PS5 Pro’s appeal is centered on its gaming power.

So, what can we expect with its potential launch?

Sony has a custom system chip for the standard PS5 that combines an AMD CPU with an RDNA2 GPU. This allows the PS5 to provide an astonishing 10.3 teraflops of graphics power.

This means that if Sony uses its patented dual GPU design on the Pro, we can have DLSS-level power with twice the graphics capacity of the PS5.

It is completely hypothetical, but still an incredible notion.

Anyway, the PS5 Pro is just a dream right now.
