In southern Minneapolis, about 100 people gathered at the gas station where Idd was killed to honor his life.
A community member said the video from the shooting body camera raises more questions than it answers.
Protesters also say that the police should have reduced the situation. However, Minneapolis police chief Medaria Arradondo said his officers were responding to a deadly threat.
The shooting took place around 6:15 pm on Wednesday at a Holiday gas station near East 36th Street and Cedar Avenue. Police said police officers were involved in a traffic stop when there was an exchange of fire and the suspect was hit. Although police have not yet identified the man, who died at the scene, a person who said he was the victim’s father identified the man as Idd.
