Professional fighter Jon Huber, also known as Brodie Lee, Luke Harper, dead at 41

December 27 (UPI) – Professional fighter Jon Huber, known by the names of Brodie Lee and Luke Harper, has died, his wife Amanda announced on Instagram. He was 41 years old.

“My best friend died today,” wrote Amanda Huber in Saturday’s post.

“I never wanted to write those words. My heart is breaking. The world saw him as the incredible @brodielee (fka Luke Harper), but he was my best friend, my husband and the best father you would ever know,” said a widow in mourning. “No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am now. He has surrounded himself with loved ones after a hard battle against a lung problem unrelated to Covid. @Mayoclinic is literally the best team of doctors and nurses in the world who surrounded me with constant love. Furthermore, I cannot express my love and admiration for the way @allelitewrestling treated not only my husband, but me and my children. “

Huber was part of the World Wrestling Entertainment organization 2012-19, so he moved to All Elite Wrestling this year.

“WWE is sad to hear that Jon Huber, known to WWE fans as Luke Harper, passed away today at age 41,” WWE tweeted Saturday night. “WWE extends its condolences to Huber’s family, friends and fans.”

Well-known figures from the wrestling world used social media to mourn his death.

“Jon was an incredible human being. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. A great man and even better husband and father. There are so many broken hearts tonight. Thanks for the great memories, brother. #RipBrodieLee,” fighter Sheamus said.

“This one hurts a lot, I have a broken heart. Brodie was really unique. He was a family and I will always keep those memories. We will miss him deeply. My heart and my prayers go out to Amanda and the boys,” announcer Joseann Offerman said.

“I don’t have the words. #RIPBrodieLee May God send his beautiful family as much strength as possible,” fighter Randy Orton said.

“During an Australian tour, I was able to be around Jon for the first time, we didn’t really know each other, but that didn’t stop him from inviting me to talk and laugh! He really knew how to make a locker room laugh! Sad day!” Fighter Buddy Murphy said.

“He left very early. His laughter lit up a room. He was so much fun to watch. And his kind soul will live on forever. You were your own type, Luke. RIP. @Mandahuber, we’re all here for you and the boys. I can’t even begin to imagine your pain. So many thoughts, prayers, love and light for you and your family, “said twin fighters Nikki and Brie Bella.

Huber leaves Amanda, his wife for 12 years, and their two children.
