In response to this, Priyanka Chopra said: “I think so. In India, it is difficult not to do that. You are right. With the turbulent number of religions that we have, who also live within the country. I grew up in a convent school I knew Christianity. My father used to sing in a mosque, I knew Islam. I grew up in a Hindu family, I knew that. Spirituality is such a big part of India that you really can’t ignore it. “She added: “I’m a Hindu. I pray, I have a temple in my house, I do it whenever I can. During a recent interaction at the Jaipur Literature Festival virtual meeting, the actress recalled one of the incidents in which her father got out of the wheelchair to receive an award with her. She described that night and said it was very brave for him to give a speech on her behalf after the actress’s victory. Priyanka said: “That night, he was a very brave man. I remember that day, he was putting all his packages in which the liquids go into his body and he was always in a wheelchair. As soon as we arrived to the venue, instead, he got up from his wheelchair and walked. And after convincing, he did it. I won the prize and asked him to go on stage with me. He came and went on stage and I remember the hosts coming up to him and helping him, but he was like, no, I’m going to do this. It took 10 minutes, but people were patient. Everyone stood up when he went up on stage.
