Priyanka Chopra announces that she will open an Indian restaurant in New York City: ‘I am very happy to introduce you to SONA’
Priyanka Chopra announced that she will open a restaurant called SONA in New York in late March.
The 38-year-old actress made the news public by posting a trio of images to her Instagram account on Saturday.
The former Miss Mundo wrote a long message in the post caption, where she expressed enthusiasm about her new commercial venture.

Chopra started his message by writing: ‘I am very happy to introduce you to SONA, a new restaurant in New York where I poured my love for Indian food.’
She then explained the concept behind her restaurant and noted that ‘SONA is the very personification of timeless India and the flavors I grew up with.’
Actress Isn’t It Romantic emphasized that her goal was to take diners ‘on a gastronomic journey through my wonderful country’.

On the same day, Chopra’s business partner, Maneesh K. Goyal, posted on his own Instagram account to show his feelings about the restaurant that would open soon.
The owner of the restaurant stressed that SONA was not planned by a particular person and wrote that “opening a restaurant is a team effort, for sure.
He then spoke about Chopra’s dedication to providing a space for his culture to be appreciated, writing that ‘There is no one who better – and more boldly – personifies the’ global Indian ‘than Pri.’
Goyal also noted that Chopra was very practical while the restaurant concept was being developed.
“From design to the menu, to the music and even the name, Priyanka has his fingerprints all over SONA,” he wrote.

In addition to her recent efforts as a restaurant owner, Chopra has several film projects underway.
The actress is expected to lead the cast of the upcoming romantic drama film Text for You, which will see her acting alongside Outlander star Sam Heughan as well as singer Celine Dion.
The main photography of the project started in October 2020 and went into post-production this year.
The entertainment industry figure has also been added to the cast of the upcoming Matrix film; its function has not yet been specified.
Although the film was initially set to be released in May this year, it was postponed to December 2022 before having its premiere date set to December 22 this year.
