Princess Sofia of Sweden, 36, and Prince Carl Philip welcome the THIRD son

Princess Sofia of Sweden and her husband, Prince Carl Philip, were seen leaving Danderyds hospital hand in hand after welcoming their third child today.

The couple, who got married in 2015, put security first with protective masks, while Prince Carl Philip carried his newborn, who was wrapped in a light blue patterned blanket, in a car seat.

Clearly obsessed, Princess Sofia, 36, who was a relaxed figure in a light blue shirt, black jeans and sneakers, could be seen looking at her son – before getting into a car with a driver waiting for him.

The royals, who wore their sleeves rolled up, kept a low profile and completed their casual look with a beige scarf and black cap.

This comes just hours after the royal couple revealed on Instagram that they had a third child, a brother to Prince Alexandre, four, and Prince Gabriel, three.

The palace’s official statement said: ‘The Marshal’s Office is pleased to announce that Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11.19 gave birth to a healthy and prosperous son at Danderyd Hospital. Mother and son are fine. ‘

The new baby is the seventh in line to the throne and the eighth grandson of King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Carl Philip, 41, is the only son and second son of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.

His older sister, Princess Victoria, 43, is the heir to the Swedish throne and he is currently fifth in line.

Victoria has two children, Prince Oscar, aged five, and Princess Estelle, aged nine.

Carl Philip’s younger sister, Princess Madeleine, fell to eighth place.

She has three children, Princess Leonore, seven, Prince Nicolas, five and Princess Adrienne, two.

Sofia, 36, and Carl announced that they were waiting in December.

In a statement shared by the Swedish royal house at the time, Carl Philip and Sofia said they are ‘happy and excited, and looking forward to receiving our third child’.

They later shared a family photo to thank supporters for their kind words.

The photo shows Carl Philip and Sofia dressed in festive clothes while posing with their children in a cozy living room. Just a touch of the belly can be seen under Sofia’s elegant camel-colored turtleneck dress.

In December, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia revealed that they had tested positive for Covid-19.

The pair suffered ‘mild flu symptoms’ and was isolated at their home in Stockholm with their children.

It is unclear exactly when the royal couple tested positive, but a spokesman said that Sofia is rubbed as part of her job at Sophiahemmet – a private hospital in Stockholm.

She had previously been photographed wearing a uniform while treating coronavirus patients at the hospital during the Swedish outbreak.

Known as Sweden’s real-life prince charming, Carl-Philip broke the hearts of royal watchers around the world by announcing his engagement to glamorous ex-model and reality show star Sofia Hellqvist in 2014, four years after the news of your relationship making headlines.

The couple received their first child, Prince Alexander, in April 2016 and another boy, Prince Gabriel, arrived in August of the following year.

Born as heir to the throne, in 1980 a law was passed that gave his older sister Victoria precedence in the line of succession.
