Princess Eugenie reveals her baby’s name

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank decided on a name for their newborn son: August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

“Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are filled with love for this little human, words cannot express, ”Eugenie captioned the photos of her family that she shared on Instagram on Saturday morning.

In the photos, August grabs his mother’s finger while being held by his father:

The pictures were taken by “our wonderful midwife” during a home visit, said the princess. She also thanked “the wonderful essential workers, including our midwife who came to discharge our son”.

Buckingham Palace said the couple was “delighted to share this first photograph with the family”. Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, tweeted that she and ex-husband Prince Andrew, “As grandparents”, were “blessed upon arrival”.

“He is a beautiful blessing and a source of much love and joy for our entire Family,” she tweeted. “I am very proud of Jack and Eugenie, they are and will be wonderful parents.”

August’s middle name, Philip, is a tribute to his great-grandfather, Prince Philip, 99. The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday as a precautionary measure after feeling ill.

“He was named after his great-grandfather and great-grandparents x5,” wrote royalty in an Instagram story:
