Princes William and Harry have not spoken to each other in months

The divide between Prince William and Prince Harry is so deep that the brothers did not even contact each other to discuss the inauguration of their mother’s statue this summer.

The event is being organized by a steering committee, including Princess Diana’s sister and one of her closest friends.

But the “sad truth” is that the once inseparable brothers have not spoken personally about it for months, despite the opening being scheduled for July, a source said.

The Daily Mail revealed in January that William and Harry intended to be at the long-awaited event on July 1, which would be Diana’s 60th birthday.

That is still the case, despite the deep anguish and anger caused by Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this week.

However, the prince who lives in California may depend a little on when his wife, who is pregnant with her second child, gives birth, as well as international travel restrictions due to Covid.

A source said: ‘It is a very sad situation, but the relationship is so tense that they have not even been able to pick up the phone to discuss the matter. That is the sad truth. ‘

Sussexes’ popularity plummets

Public opinion about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is the worst ever, according to a survey.

In the Oprah Winfrey interview, Harry and Meghan made bombastic claims of racist attitudes in the Royal Family.

Meghan also said that the lack of support left her with a feeling of suicide. But YouGov’s research suggests it didn’t go well with the public – with attitudes towards Harry now being more negative than positive for the first time.

The mid-week survey of 1,664 Britons shows that 45 percent have a positive opinion of Harry, but 48 percent consider him negative, giving him a net score of -3, down 15 points the previous week. Only 31% have a positive opinion of Meghan, while 58% view it negatively, giving her a net rating of -27, a drop of -14.

But William and Kate had net valuations of +60 and +57, respectively, a slight drop from last week. Most 18- to 24-year-olds approved Meghan (55 percent) and Harry (59 percent).

But 83 percent of people over 65 thought negatively about Meghan and 69 percent did not like Harry.

The brothers announced in 2017, before the 20th anniversary of their mother’s tragic death in a car accident in Paris, that they planned to install a statue in their memory in the gardens of Kensington Palace, their home in London.

They created Diana’s statue committee, Princess of Wales, to raise funds for the particular monument.

Its president is Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, a trusted friend and former private secretary to the princes.

The main members include Diana’s sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, as well as Julia Samuel, a close friend of Diana and the godmother of Prince George.

The brothers selected artist Ian Rank-Broadley, whose portrait of the Queen appears in all UK coins, to create the statue and hoped to reveal it before the end of 2017.

But their relationship disintegrating, after the formal dismantling of their joint home and charitable foundation, and Harry’s decision to move from Kensington Palace to Windsor with Meghan, 39, delayed plans.

Last August, Kensington Palace said the statue would be inaugurated at Sunken Garden this year.

Sources insist they were never in doubt, despite the Sussex bitter decision to stop working as a royal and move to the United States last year.

But the sadness is that the project in memory of the mother has not yet managed to bring the brothers together.

In the interview with Miss Winfrey, Harry, 36, said: ‘The relationship is’ space’ at the moment. Time heals all things, I hope.

On Thursday, William, 38, said he had not yet spoken to Harry, four days after the interview – although it was alleged that they exchanged text messages.

Sources wonder whether the two men will be able to see each other to resolve their differences before the revelation.

One said, ‘Everyone knows that this is really important for both dukes. I just hope that the bridges can be built before the day.

Now Meghan Markle complains to Ofcom about Piers Morgan

Media regulator Ofcom has received a complaint on behalf of Meghan Markle about controversial comments by Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.

The broadcaster cast doubt on the Duchess of Sussex’s comments in her interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which she spoke about her suicidal thoughts.

Morgan insisted that he did not believe a word of what Meghan had said. Earlier this week, it was discovered that the duchess had made a formal complaint to the ITV after his criticisms of her on Monday’s program.

It is alleged that she focused on how her comments could have an impact on mental health in general. Morgan left the program on Tuesday, when Ofcom revealed that it had received more than 41,000 complaints.

Mental health charity Mind also criticized Morgan’s comments.

Now Ofcom has confirmed ‘the receipt of a standards complaint made on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex’.

Yesterday, Morgan, pictured, attributed his departure from Good Morning Britain to “culture cancellation”.

He said he had ‘lost’ his job because he would not apologize for ‘not believing’ Meghan’s claims.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘So I became the last’ victim ‘of the culture of cancellation that is permeating our country … Although, of course, I consider myself not a victim, nor really canceled.’

The news is that Associated Newspapers, which owns the Daily Mail, wrote to Viacom CBS asking that a “seriously inaccurate and misleading” montage of British newspapers be removed from Oprah’s talk show.

The company criticized the CBS program for ‘deliberate distortion and adulteration’ of newspaper headlines to support its claims about racist coverage in the British press.

It was announced yesterday that Harry and Meghan have made a donation to PressPad, a new charity that aims to help young people from ‘diverse backgrounds’ become journalists.
