Prince Philip’s health in question while Prince Charles raises concern over strangely timed visit | Royal | News

Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson discussed the peculiar actions of the Palace and Prince Charles while Prince Philip remains in the hospital. Speaking on their ITV program, The Royal Rota, the pair agreed that Palace’s language change was worrying. They noted that Prince Philip’s hospitalization was initially just a precaution, while they said he has an infection he is dealing with at the hospital.

In addition, they noted that Prince Charles’ decision to take a trip to his father during a pandemic was “extraordinary”.

Mrs. Robinson added that it is even more unusual, as Prince Philip rarely receives visits from the Royal Family during the hospital.

Mr Ship said: “With the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, what I think worried everyone was not just the language change we received from the palace last week.

“The language that concerned keeping it under control and just for observation.

“Considering that this week they said that he has an infection and that he is undergoing treatment and that he will not leave for several days.”

In addition, Mr. Ship noted the importance of Prince Charles’s visit to his father.

He said: “This, along with an unannounced visit by Prince Charles on Saturday, has concerned everyone about the seriousness of his condition.”

Mrs Robinson added: “That is correct, the Duke of Edinburgh is 99 years old and will turn 100 in June.

Saturday will mark the 11th night and the longest stay the Duke of Edinburgh has ever had at the hospital.

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Philip is “comfortable and responding to treatment”, but is not expected to leave the hospital for several days.

Royal expert Camilla Tominey said the Palace tried to “muffle any alarm”, however.
