Prince Philip “obviously knows” about Prince Harry, Meghan Markle interview on Oprah

The British royal family reportedly worked together to ensure that Prince Philip was not oppressed by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s counting bomb.

On March 7, CBS aired a two-hour interview that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave to Oprah Winfrey. During the television session, Harry, 36, revealed that his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, 72, and his older brother, Prince William, 38, broke up.

Markle, 39, described feeling so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had thoughts of suicide. The Duchess of Sussex also claimed that a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the skin color of her unborn child.

The family member was not Queen Elizabeth II, 94, or Philip, 99, according to Harry, generating a wave of speculation about who it might be.

Harry also told the media mogul, 67, that the royal family cut him off in early 2020 after announcing plans to step aside from his roles. But he was able to guarantee the safety of his family because of the money his late mother, Princess Diana, left behind.

As nearly 50 million people worldwide watched the interview that week, Philip was hospitalized.

“He obviously knows about the Harry and Meghan interview, but the queen, Charles and William are trying to avoid overwhelming him with their problems, so they are keeping their conversations with him about the aftermath,” a real source told Us Weekly on Wednesday.

“While the queen is busy working, she says it is good to have her husband back,” added the source.

A week after the interview aired, Gayle King announced on “CBS This Morning” that Philip’s grandson and his wife had a backup plan for the interview out of respect for the duke.

“If something, God forbid, had happened to him, the interview would not have happened at this specific time,” said the 66-year-old. “But the interview was done and scheduled before he went to the hospital. But a lot of people raised that point.”

On March 16, Philip returned to Windsor Castle after a month in the hospital, where he was treated for an infection and underwent a cardiac procedure.

The queen’s husband was admitted to the King Edward VII private hospital in London on February 16, where he was treated for an infection. He was later transferred to a specialized cardiac care unit at St. Bartholomew Hospital, before returning to King Edward VII.

“His Royal Highness wishes to thank all the medical staff who cared for him at King Edward VII Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, and everyone who sent his best wishes,” the palace said in a statement.

Philip’s disease is not believed to be related to COVID-19. Philip and Elizabeth received coronavirus vaccines in January and chose to publicize the matter to encourage others to also get the vaccine.

Philip, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, retired in 2017 and rarely appears in public. Before his hospitalization, he had isolated himself at Windsor Castle, west of London, with the queen.

The conversation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Winfrey, 67, divided people around the world. While many say the allegations demonstrate the need for change within a palace that has not kept up with the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements, others have criticized Harry and Markle for dropping his bomb while Philip was hospitalized.
