While close friends of Meghan Markle continue to support the Duchess amid accusations that she has previously intimidated royal officials, more details are surfacing about how the advisers saw Prince Harry during their engagement.
According to a new report, palace officials who spent time with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before the 2018 royal wedding dubbed Harry “the hostage”.
The nickname was supposedly the result of a tense moment that occurred between the couple and employees, who refused to allow Markle to take the tiara he planned to wear during the wedding with her for a hair appointment, The Telegraph reports, citing sources.
An insider said on the way out that one of Queen Elizabeth II’s aides received a reprimand from Harry as soon as he learned that Markle’s request was denied. The source said the aide “told Harry that it was priceless and could not be delivered in the short term,” reports the communication channel, via The Sun.

Prince Harry reportedly replied, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”
Representatives for Prince Harry, Markle and Buckingham Palace did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
A source said Markle was allegedly the victim. “She was constantly looking for reasons to say that she had been deprived,” a source told the newspaper. “Besides, she wanted drama from the start.”
These new allegations come just days after Buckingham Palace confirmed that it will launch an investigation into allegations that Markle bullied officials during her time as a real worker. Markle’s team refuted the allegations.
They also come just a day before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple should discuss everything from marriage, philanthropic work to public scrutiny on the CBS special that airs Sunday night.

“We are clearly very concerned about the allegations in The Times after allegations made by former officials of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the palace said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Consequently, our HR team will review the circumstances described in the article,” the statement continued. “The team members involved at the moment, including those who have left the House, will be invited to participate to see if the lessons can be learned.”
“Royal Household has a Dignity at Work policy in place for several years and does not tolerate intimidation or harassment in the workplace,” the statement concluded.

Markle’s team refuted the allegations, saying in a statement shared with Fox News that the duchess is “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been bullied and is deeply committed to supporting those who have suffered and trauma. “
“She is determined to continue her work of building compassion around the world and will continue to strive to set an example of doing what is right and doing what is good,” added the statement.
According to The Times, the complaint was first made in October 2018 by Jason Knauf, the couple’s former communications secretary. The complaint alleged that the former American actress expelled two personal assistants from home and undermined the trust of a third employee.

The media reported that Knauf filed the complaint in an effort to protect palace officials who claimed to be being bullied by Markle. Some claimed that they were even reduced to tears.
Several close friends and former colleagues of Markle’s have defended her character in recent days, including TV director Silver Tree publishing a long statement on Friday describing the Duchess as a friend who “insists on always hearing the details of her life, her day, her children’s life, her children’s day, before hers. “
