Prince Harry gets a new job at technology startup BetterUp

The Duke of Sussex joined Silicon Valley startup BetterUp as its impact director, the company told CNN Business on Tuesday. A spokesman for Harry also confirmed the prince’s new role.

BetterUp provides training and mental health services to clients. The company’s website lists Harry as part of its leadership team, describing him as a “humanitarian, military veteran, advocate for mental well-being and environmentalism”.

Harry joins the startup weeks after he and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, gave a bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey that detailed his decision to leave the UK and move away from important positions in the British royal family. The couple, who live in California, also addressed the real-life problem in their mental health.

At BetterUp, Harry is expected to contribute to strategic product decisions and charitable contributions, and publicly defend topics related to mental health, the newspaper reported. The newspaper said BetterUp declined to comment on how much Harry would receive.

“It is a significant and significant role,” CEO Alexi Robichaux told the Wall Street Journal.

The prince outlined his reasons for joining BetterUp in a company blog post, saying he recognized a “shared passion” for helping people in Robichaux.

“What caught my attention about BetterUp was that the company’s mission to unlock the potential of people everywhere requires innovation, impact and integrity. His team has been doing this work for years,” said Harry.

Harry also said that he personally benefited from the coaching provided by BetterUp.

“Personally, I found working with a BetterUp coach to be invaluable. I was chosen by a really amazing coach who gave me good advice and a new perspective,” said Harry on the blog.

The prince has taken on another great job since he left the UK. Spotify has an exclusive partnership with Archewell Audio, a production company founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
