Prince Harry and Prince William pay separate tributes to Princess Diana on UK Mother’s Day

Prince Harry and Prince William paid their own tribute in honor of their late mother, Princess Diana.

On Sunday, a spokesman for Harry, 36, told Harper’s Bazaar royal editor Omid Scobie that the Duke of Sussex had placed a bouquet of flowers on his mother’s final resting place.

“A spokesman for Prince Harry said he arranged for flowers to be deposited at Princess Diana’s grave at the Spencer family estate in Althorp, Northamptonshire for #MothersDay in the UK today,” tweeted the author of “Finding Freedom”.

Harry currently lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle, 39, and firstborn Archie, 1. The couple is expecting a baby girl this summer.

Harry’s older brother, 38, also paid tribute to his mother. The official Instagram page of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed handmade cards from their three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, made for “Grandma Diana”.

“This year Mother’s Day will be different again,” said the caption. “Many of us will be separated from our loved ones, but looking forward to the not-too-distant future in which we can give our mother a hug again. But for those who are going through grief, today can be particularly challenging.”

“Every year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards in memory of their grandmother, Diana, for William,” continued the post. “Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother’s Day.”

“Dear Grandma Diana,” said George’s card. “Happy, happy Mother’s Day. I love you so much and I think of you always, sending a lot of love from George xxxxx.”

On March 7, CBS broadcast a two-hour interview that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had with Oprah Winfrey. During the television session, Harry revealed that his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, as well as with William, had broken down.

Markle described feeling so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had thoughts of suicide. The Duchess of Sussex also claimed that a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the skin color of her unborn child.

The family member was not Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip, according to Harry, generating a wave of speculation about who it might be.

The interview revealed tensions between the brothers, who had long been seen as close and who supported each other after Diana’s death.

When asked about his relationship with William, Harry replied, “Time heals all things, I hope.”

On Thursday, William insisted that his family is not racist. He was the first member of British royalty to speak about accusations of intolerance made by his younger brother and his sister-in-law.

William made the comments in response to questions asked to him by reporters during a visit to a school in East London. Although members of the royal family often ignore these questions, William took the opportunity to address the explosive claims that rocked the monarchy.

“We are not a racist family,” said William as his wife Kate Middleton walked beside him.
