Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “have no plans” to return to social media almost a year after Megxit.
A source close to the former royals told The Times of London that they are “very unlikely” to have an online presence, mainly due to the “hatred” they received.
Before the couple separated from the royal family, social media was a big part of their lives.
The couple announced their Megxit plan to the world through an Instagram post on their “Sussex Royal” profile. Although the profile is still active, it is not active. They last posted a farewell message in March 2020, saying “although you can’t see us here, the work continues.”
They also revealed the birth and name of their son Archie through the platform.
Before her engagement to Harry, Meghan had an online blog called “The Tig”, which she closed after her engagement to Harry. She also had a personal profile on Instagram.
Harry reportedly used a secret anonymous Instagram account when he and Meghan started dating.
Although they have a podcast on Spotify, Archewell Charity will not have its own social media accounts.
The duo released their Christmas card through Mayhew, an animal advocacy organization that Meghan has been involved with in the past.
