From ELLE
Almost a year ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they would be officially moving away from their roles as older members of the royal family. They have since moved to Los Angeles, where they now have a home in Montecito.
A source close to the couple said Entertainment Tonight that Meghan and Harry “don’t regret” their decision to leave their real roles.
“[They] feel very rewarded for their work, “added the source. The source also said the couple has no plans to return to the UK now, considering the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Meghan and Harry made their last official royal appearance on March 9 at the Westminster Day Service at Westminster Abbey. Meghan and Harry launched Archewell, their new nonprofit organization, in October:
“Before SussexRoyal, the idea of ’Arche’ – the Greek word for ‘source of action’ – came up. We connected with this concept to the charitable organization that we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name, “they said in a statement at the time.” To do something meaningful, to do something important. Archewell is a name that combines an old word for strength and action and another that evokes the deep resources that each of us must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right. “
On New Year’s Eve, they released a letter for 2021 on the Archewell website with the following statement:
“I am the son of my mother. And I am the mother of our son. Together, we bring you Archewell,” they wrote. “We believe in the best of humanity. Because we have seen the best of humanity. We experience compassion and kindness, both from our mothers and from strangers. In the face of fear, struggle and pain, it can be easy to lose sight of it. Together, we can choose to put compassion in action. We invite you to join us as we work to build a better world, one act of compassion at a time, ”conclude the letter with their signed signatures – Harry and Meghan.”
