Prince George’s Co. begins pre-registration for Phase 1c of the launch of the COVID-19 vaccine

Prince George County is asking residents and skilled workers for the Phase 1c coronavirus vaccine group to pre-register.

As Maryland prepares to move on to the next phase of its coronavirus vaccine implantation, Prince George County is asking residents and skilled workers to pre-register.

“At the moment, we are asking all county residents and those working in the county, who are in 1C, to complete a pre-registration form,” said county executive Angela Alsobrooks in a statement.

Those in Phase 1c include people aged 65 to 74; health and human services workers and public security workers not covered by Phase 1a; and essential workers with high risk of exposure, such as those working in food and agriculture, grocery stores, public transport and mail.

Those who have already registered will receive consultations as soon as they become available, which, according to the county, can take several weeks or more. Alsobrooks said on Twitter residents must provide proof of residence or employment in the county at the time of appointment.

The county health department is still working to vaccinate people in Phases 1a and 1b.

Governor Larry Hogan announced last week that the state could begin Phase 1c of the coronavirus vaccine launch on Monday.
