Prince Charles “is anything but racist,” says the royal filmmaker: he “must be shocked and heartbroken”

EXCLUSIVE: Nick Bullen has no doubt that Prince Charles is heartbroken by Prince Harry’s shocking conversation with Oprah Winfrey.

On Sunday, CBS aired a two-hour interview that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave to the media mogul. During the television session, Harry, 36, revealed that his relationship with his father, 72, as well as with his older brother, Prince William, broke up.

Markle Markle, 39, also described feeling so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had thoughts of suicide. The Duchess of Sussex also claimed that a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the skin color of her unborn child.

The family member was not Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip, according to Harry, generating a wave of speculation about who it might be.

“I think the Prince of Wales must be shocked and heartbroken,” Bullen told Fox News. “Imagine if any member of your family, especially your son or daughter, went on television and said, ‘Is my relationship with my father over?’ Even if it is true, the world now knows. So I think the Prince of Wales must be heartbroken. “

Bullen is co-founder and editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV. The award-winning documentary maker has been making shows about the royal family for almost 20 years and has worked closely with Charles for eight years.

Bullen insisted that he never suspected Charles of being a racist.

“I worked with the Prince of Wales,” he explained. “It has been put into the public domain. And I can say that he is anything but racist. I have enormous respect for him. He is a man driven by duty.

“In fact, when Meghan Markle’s father was unable to attend the royal wedding, it was Charles who introduced himself and offered to take Meghan to the altar,” continued Bullen. “And, as I understand it, he was always receptive to Meghan Markle. He wanted to make sure that she wouldn’t feel alone. Whatever the relationship between Meghan and her father, Charles wanted to support his son and his new daughter -lei . “

Bullen also scoffed at claims that Charles was not a father figure in support of Harry.

“I have no doubt that the man cares about his son,” said Bullen. “We only really heard one side of the story. And so far, Meghan and Harry have won the public relations war.”

A Prince of Wales representative did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.

Charles did not speak about the couple’s interview during a visit to a vaccine clinic in London on Tuesday. The visit was the Prince of Wales’s first public appearance since the meeting and came amid growing pressure on Buckingham Palace to respond to the accusations.

Soon after, Buckingham Palace issued a 60-word statement on behalf of Elizabeth, 94.

“The whole family is sad to hear how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” said a statement sent to Fox News on Tuesday.

“The issues raised, particularly those of race, are of concern,” the statement continued. “Although some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be taken care of by the family in particular. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very dear members of the family.”

Representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made no comment when contacted by Fox News.

Harry told Winfrey that the royal family cut him off in early 2020 after announcing plans to step aside from his roles. But he was able to guarantee the safety of his family because of the money his late mother, Princess Diana, left behind.

He said his relationship with Charles was affected. He even noticed that the patriarch stopped answering his calls.

“There is a lot to work out there,” said Harry of his relationship with his father. “I feel very disappointed. He went through something similar. He knows what pain is. And Archie is his grandson. I will always love him, but a lot of hurt has happened.”

Harry also acknowledged that he does not have a close relationship with his brother William, 38, who is heir to the throne after Charles. He contested rumors that he intentionally surprised the queen with his decision to separate. He suspected that the rumors came from the institution.

“I never surprised my grandmother,” said Harry. “I have a lot of respect for her.”

The interview was seen by almost 50 million people worldwide.

After Harry and Markle were married in May 2018 at Windsor Castle, the royal family seemed to welcome the Duchess of Sussex, a glamorous former TV star. The pair was seen as a new youthful face for the monarchy of an increasingly multicultural nation.

It didn’t take long for the fairy tale to unravel.

The couple moved away from royal duties last year and settled in California, saying they wanted to escape racist coverage and unwanted intrusions into their privacy by the British media.

During the interview, the duke and duchess shared that they are expecting a girl this summer.
