SRP officials say customers of its prepaid M-Power plan were affected by a power outage on the night of January 8.

During the night, FOX 10 received calls from viewers who claim that people with outstanding balance on the SRP’s M-Power program had their power turned off at around 8pm.

At around 9:30 pm, SRP officials issued a series of instructions for people to follow to restore electricity.

  1. Write down 7183 5365 1334 1168 0000.
  2. Press and hold the “Display cycle” and “Select language” buttons for five seconds. The “Enter Code” message will appear. If the power is off, it will turn on for ten minutes while you enter the code.
  3. Start entering the code by pressing the “Select language” button until the first required number appears. Then, press the “Show cycle” button to lock the number and move to the next position. If you make a mistake when entering a number, press the two buttons for 2 seconds and release
  4. The flashing line will return to the last digit entered so that you can correct the entry. Repeat step 2 until all digits of the issued code have been entered. The message “eCode Accepted” will appear if the number is entered correctly and validated.

SRP officials say they do not know what led to the power outage for M-Power customers, but they are investigating.

According to the SRP website, the M-Power pricing plan is a prepaid plan that allows people to choose how much energy to buy.

Customers of the plan, according to the website, will have a special meter installed in their home, which will show the amount of energy that remains and will let you know when the energy is depleted. Customers who need more energy can purchase more energy through an application offered by SRP.
