MADISON (WKOW) – Madison police say a pregnant woman was taken to a hospital after a man stole her car and ran over her Sunday afternoon.
Madison police responded to the Kwik Trip gas station on block 7700 on Mineral Point Road just before 12:30 pm for reports of car theft.
Police reported that the car owner said she was putting air in her tires when a man got into the car while it was running.
Police say he backed up the car to take off and ran over the victim’s right leg while she was trying to get him out of the car.
Law enforcement officials said the 34-year-old victim was 20 weeks pregnant and was taken to seek medical attention due to soft tissue injuries to her leg.
Later in the evening, Madison police released a photo of the suspect who appears to be from a security camera.
Investigators ask anyone who knows the man to call the Madison Police Department.
