She surprised fans when she announced that she was eight months pregnant with her first child with her husband Caspar Jopling earlier this week.

And Ellie Goulding openly discussed how she was able to keep her baby’s news secret for so long during an interview at the Sunday Brunch this weekend.

The Lights’ hitmaker, 34, admitted that she covered her growing lump with her 29-year-old husband’s coat while talking to hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy.

Asked about the pregnancy for her and how she kept it a secret, she said: ‘It’s different … I stole my husband’s coat for about six months,

The singer, who married art dealer Caspar in 2019, announced her pregnancy in stunning home photos taken for Vogue magazine.

Ellie’s last major appearance was at the V&A Museum that month and she spent the entire blockade period at her home in Gloucestershire.
