PPV opening, street fight recorded a ‘massive success’

While there are many questions to be answered at Sunday’s AEW Revolution, one can be answered since the opening of the show will be AEW Tag Team Champions, the Young Bucks vs. Chris Jericho and MJF kick-off.

The Bucks will seek the third defense of the titles it won in Full Gear last November and extend a winning streak in tag team matches dating back to last year’s Revolution, when they were defeated by then champions Kenny Omega and Hangman Page. Jericho and MJF have been unbeaten since they formed as a team and won the chance by winning a real battle at the Dynamite edition in February at Beach Break.

On another note for tonight’s show, the street fight between TNT champion Darby Allin and Sting against team members Taz Brian Cage and Ricky Starks has already been recorded in cinematic style. Justin Barrasso from SI said he was informed that the match was a “massive success” that “highlights Sting, ensuring that he works in the safest environment possible; allows Ricky Starks and Brian Cage to have some star-creating moments; and gave it to Darby Allin – who had a chance to apply his experience at film school – more likely to be a daredevil. “
