In the drawings, Blossom was the de facto leader of the Powerpuff Girls. According to the Variety synopsis, Blossom has several advanced degrees, but is suffering from a repressed superhero trauma that led her to live an anxious, reclusive life. She hopes to regain her role as the series leader.
Meanwhile, Bubbles is still the same brilliant character as before, but is now interested in recapturing his fame by saving the world. And Buttercup on the show has spent most of her life living anonymously and trying to leave her past behind.
