The ‘Where Gaming Begins’ event was organized today by AMD and was the official launch of the Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB. That was not all. In addition to the event, PowerColor is the first to officially present its customized Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB. The custom variant of PowerColor will be called Hellhound. The Radeon RX 6700 XT Hellhound is a departure from PowerColor’s usual design philosophy.

From what we learned at the launch event, the Radeon RX 6700 XT will feature the Navi 22 XT GPU which has 40 computing units that are equivalent to 2560 stream processors. It comes equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 192-bit bus interface and RDNA 2 graphics architecture. The reference board is powered by an 8 + 6-pin connector configuration with a 230W TDP. It also has 96 MB of Infinity Cache and 40 Ray Accelerators for raytracing features on RDNA 2-based GPUs.

Hellhound differs in power supply as it takes advantage of dual 8-pin connectors instead of the 8 + 6-pin connector configuration seen in the reference model. Hellhound is also likely to have a higher TDP. For the design, PowerColor went with a lighter blue more similar to water blue, instead of the standard red accents seen in the Red Devil and Red Dragon series. The back plate features a diabolical-looking dog that matches the namesake of the Hellhound. The dog is enclosed in a blue triangle and the eye is illuminated by a blue LED. The card appears to have blue LED accents based on the teaser.
The PowerColor Radeon RX 6700 XT Hellhound appears to be a solid card with an attractive design that is likely to have a premium price. We are not sure whether other manufacturers will follow suit and provoke their letters, but we have leaked images of custom ASUS models.
