Power outages affecting thousands of counties in Fairfax, Loudoun

Thousands of customers are in the dark across Northern Virginia. The interruptions occur in the counties of Fairfax and Loudoun.

Thousands of customers are in the dark across Northern Virginia on Tuesday morning.

Dominion Energy reports widespread outages affecting nearly 15,000 customers in Fairfax County and 650 in Loudoun County, as of 7:15 am

Early in the morning, the outage affected about 30,000.

The WTOP Traffic Center reports that several signs are off along the US Route 50 corridor between South Riding and Greenbriar.

Drivers should proceed with caution and follow police instructions when present. Make sure to stop at dark intersections and give the right of way.

Dominion’s website says power should be restored at 10am
