Shortly after a new report that states that Xbox and Bethesda are scheduled to hold an event of some kind next month, updated information on the potential launch window for Starfield also now emerged. While it is uncertain whether these new details associated with the long-awaited RPG are legitimate, they do happen to align with what we heard in the past about the game’s release.
In ResetEra, a well-known leaker that goes by the aforementioned username “NateDrake” Starfield and the launch plans that Bethesda has for him. According to what this user has heard, Bethesda is planning to release the game sometime in 2021 for some time. However, based on last year’s events, plans may have changed. “There has been great hope and desire to have Starfield launch this year, “said the post.” How big the impacts due to COVID in the title were is unknown, but 2021 was the intended target for the launch a few months ago. “
Of course, with any such leak, it is always worth emphasizing that the details depicted here can be very flawed. That said, and as mentioned before, a 2021 launch window for Starfield it’s really something we’ve heard in the past. A very credible report came out at the end of last year, which also stated a target window of 2021 when it comes to Starfield. As NateDrake noted in his own post, however, whether or not the COVID-19 pandemic could have caused an internal delay of some kind is unknown.
There is also the possibility that, once Bethesda becomes part of Xbox Game Studios, the powers that have ended up at Microsoft may have different plans when it comes to Starfield. As such, this is a situation where those who are internally at Bethesda and Xbox may not even have a launch window for the game yet. So, reserve your expectations for now.
At the moment, everything we know for sure about Starfield is, well, basically just that there is. Bethesda has not yet confirmed any type of launch window or platform for the game at its end. If there is some kind of event going on in the next month, maybe we can learn more at that moment.
