Post Malone’s virtual show as Pokémon Day title

The Pokémon Company will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its captureable monsters with a virtual show headed by Post Malone, the company announced with a trailer on Thursday morning.

Fans can tune in on February 27, Pokémon Day, to see a digitized Post Malone honoring the Pokémon fandom – and the Pokémon themselves. The Post Malone virtual show will start at 7 pm EST. Fans will be able to watch it through the Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as the 25th anniversary website.

“I’ve been a fan of Pokémon for a long time,” said Post Malone in a press release. “So the opportunity to headline the Pokémon Day show that celebrates 25 years is incredible.”

The Post Malone show will also kick off the Pokémon Company’s P25 Music program, where it plans to partner with artists like Katy Perry to create new music “through the lens of Pokémon,” the company said.

Before the show, on February 20, Pokémon Go players can log in to the Tour: Kanto event. On the 25th, fans will be able to obtain a Pokémon Company password to download a special type of Pikachu for their Pokémon Sword AND Shield files. This Pikachu has come to know Sing, which is atypical in Electric type Pokémon. And fans can watch a marathon of animated Pokémon-themed musical series on Pokémon TV before the show on February 27.

Pokémon fans can also expect additional announcements before and after the Post Malone show, the Pokémon Company said.
