Porsche 911 GT3 Video Teaser

After what looks like years of teasers, spy shots and rumors, Porsche is finally ready to reveal the newest generation of the 911 GT3 on Tuesday, February 16. On Thursday, the company released a video teaser showing tips on the car’s final design, as well as its exhaust note.

The 14-second clip isn’t exactly long, but it’s more than enough to get us excited. The new GT3, based on the Porsche 911 of the 992 generation, is prepared to receive a version of the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine found in the latest 911 Speedster. That means things like individual butterfly bodies and a 9,000 rpm red line. It is expected to produce over 500 horsepower and looks absolutely fantastic in the video above.

Although the car in the teaser is equipped with Porsche’s double-clutch PDK automatic transmission, a good old six-speed manual will still be available for purists who want to paddle on their own. Car and driver, in its December race with a prototype, confirmed that the hood and engine cover will be made of carbon fiber. And that the multilink front suspension will be derived from the RSR race car.

In terms of appearance, we expect the car to look a lot like the prototype photos released last year. That means a 992 with a revised front end, a large rear wing, a central exhaust outlet and a diffuser. We won’t have to wait much longer to see the model ready for production.
