The pop duo Aly & AJ finally abandoned the long-awaited new explicit version of their hit “Potential Breakup Song”.
The Michalka sisters released the original, clean song in 2007 and fans looked forward to a more daring version all those years later.
“Potential Breakup Song” was from the album “Insomniatic” and reached 17th place on the Billboard Hot 100.
Aly, 31, previously told Us Weekly: “We like the song. I think we are proud of it. But I would produce this song very differently now, when I think about it.”

AJ, 29, added: “Yes, it’s the same. I would love this song to be, like, a facelift … I like to revisit this song live and play it for our fans. But I agree. I think the way pop the song has changed now, we would play it and do something totally different. “
Fans reacted to the new song on social media and were thrilled with the lyrics update.
“The only good thing that happened in 2020 was getting the adult version of a potential breakup song”, said A person.
