Polling station in Georgia’s second round threatened by a Tennessee man claiming that the Nashville bombing was a ‘practice’: report

An electoral warehouse in Fulton County, where votes are still being counted the morning after the second round of the Georgia Senate, was under tightened security on election night after a bomb threat was announced last week and election officials and officials from the county were followed from the site to a parking lot on Tuesday night.

Fulton County Electoral Director Rick Barron told WSB-TV that a man in Tennessee reported the bomb threat last Wednesday, but no arrests were made after authorities investigated.

“The person said the Nashville bombing was a practical race for what we would see today at one of our polling stations,” Barron told the network Tuesday night.

In addition, police responded to reports that county and election officials were followed up at the polling station and confronted while they closed the polls and at the polling station, according to WSB-TV.

A Fulton County Police Department spokesman did not respond to Fox News’ request for more details about the incident.

Georgia’s runoff runs – the results of which will be crucial to determining the balance of power in the Senate – have been closely watched, especially as President Trump has maintained attacks against the state, making unfounded claims that there has been widespread electoral fraud in several counties – including Fulton, a Democratic stronghold – during the presidential elections.

Electoral participation in the second round was expected to exceed that of the November elections.
