Poll: The ‘iPhone case’ debate goes viral on Twitter, what do you think?

If you go to the Trends section of your Twitter app today, you’ll find a funny trend topic: “iPhone case”. The debate revolves around whether you should keep or throw away your iPhone case, with some users also sharing how they reuse their iPhone cases.

The “iPhone box” debate went viral on Twitter today after a user tweeted a blunt message telling everyone to throw the iPhone box away. Since the tweet went viral, thousands of users have entered the debate, discussing whether or not to keep or discard their old Apple boxes.

Many Apple fans love to keep the boxes for all their products, mainly because Apple boxes are historically high quality and well designed. This has changed somewhat recently, with Apple working to reduce the size of iPhone cases by removing USB chargers.

Here is the original tweet in question, which started it all:

Personally, I’m on the team of maintaining your iPhone case – and all other Apple cases for that matter. Specifically for the iPhone, the box can provide some useful information about things like your serial number and IMEI. Also, if you’re going to resell your iPhone on eBay or another platform, it almost always helps to include the original box in the sale.

And if you? Are you part of the team that keeps your iPhone cases or throws them away / recycles them? Let us know in the poll below and explain in the comments!

Outside of the real debate, many Twitter users are also sharing images of the clever ways they reuse their Apple boxes, ranging from joystick controllers to Halloween decorations and more. Here are some of our favorites.
