Policemen turning the van in pursuit of Oceanside to Pacoima – NBC Los Angeles

Officers chased the driver of a van on the highways of southern California, from northern San Diego County to the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, before a CHP officer turned the vehicle around in the Pacoima area.

The chase started at Oceanside and headed north on the 5th Freeway. It was not clear what led to the persecution.

He entered downtown Los Angeles around 3:30 pm and arrived at Passo Cahuenga between Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley ten minutes later. The driver continued on the 101 Freeway heading north and made the transition to the 170 Freeway.

The driver seemed to wave a gun from the window in the East Los Angeles area. He then dropped the gun on Highway 170, where it was recovered by the police.

A CHP officer executed a PIT maneuver a few kilometers later, turning the van and ending the chase in Pacoima. The driver surrendered immediately and was taken into custody.
