Police search for man who allegedly hit a pregnant woman and stole his car

MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – Madison police are looking for a man who they say hit a pregnant woman while stealing her car at a gas station on Sunday afternoon.

Madison police say they responded to the Kwik trip at 7717 Mineral Point Road just before 12:30 pm for a car theft. The 34-year-old pregnant woman told police she was inflating her tires with air when the thief got into his running vehicle.

The woman tried to pull him out of the passenger door, but the thief backed up and ran over her right leg and thigh, police said. The woman, who is 20 weeks pregnant, was transported to a hospital due to injuries to the soft tissues of her leg.

Police say the suspect escaped with the vehicle and is currently working to obtain a video of the Kwik Trip. The suspect is described as a man about six feet tall, all black and with a gaitor-style face mask.

If anyone has any information about the suspect’s identity, call the Madison Police Department.
