Police Arrest Largest Cocaine Gang in Madrid

A red Ferrari, 600 kg of cocaine and an arsenal of weapons, including a Japanese sword, were seized from members of the largest drug trafficking gang in Madrid, police said on Sunday (March 14).

12 gang members were arrested and the Spanish National Police called them were very violent.

About $ 800,000 in cash was seized, along with 20 expensive cars, including Ferrari.

Three daggers and several automatic weapons were also found during a series of attacks.

Police said in a statement that it was the largest cocaine distribution organization in the Spanish capital.

An “anti-drug lawyer” performed legal functions for the organization, including money laundering, while gang members used code names to refer to each other or to the apartments used to store the cocaine.

The gang leader, who is Moroccan, worked with other gangs in Morocco, Spain, northern Europe and Colombia.

The Spanish police worked with colleagues in Colombia to carry out the operation.
