Polestar will halt production of its impressive hybrid in late 2021

The Polestar 1 hybrid GT created a buzz on the car show and even a little bit of lust, thanks to its stunning appearance, 619 horsepower and respectable 60-mile battery life. However, it was always intended as a halo vehicle to launch the brand and pave the way for Polestar 2 and other EVs. For this, it is now entering its final production.

Polestar has always planned to make only 1,500 copies of Polestar 1, and is continuing to do so. Most of them were allocated to Europe and other regions and, according to this, the US market will receive only 125 more of the final batch.

Polestar started as Volvo’s performance brand, and Polestar 1’s design is actually based on the Volvo Concept Coupe 2013. With all that power and the smart-looking carbon fiber body, it can reach 60 MPH since start in just 4.2 seconds. At the same time, the 34 kWh battery allows you to travel to work or shop without using a drop of gas.

Polestar will only manufacture EVs from now on, so Polestar 1 will be a unique model in the line. If you are interested in buying one, you can queue up on the company’s website, as long as you are willing to pay $ 156,500. Based on the rarity, however, the Polestar 1 is likely to have that value as a collector’s car, and more.
