Popular Twitch star Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys criticized fellow streamer and former Overwatch League star Daniel ‘Dafran’ Francesca for what she saw as a sexist approach to the charges faced by professional Valorant Jay ‘Sinatraa’ Won.
As Dexerto reported on March 9, Sinatraa’s ex-girlfriend, Cleo ‘cle0h’ Hernandez, posted a document where she claimed the Sentinels player was sexually abusive in their relationship.
Dafran, Sinatraa’s former teammate during his time on the Overwatch Selfless team, was extremely vocal in his defense of the 2019 OWL MVP.
In a series of controversial tweets, Dafran wrote that, “E-girls can be fucking scary as a Twitch streamer. They will try to do jebait or photoshop tests and then fuck you. I’m not saying she is, but she could be. “
We have to wait for Sinatraa’s side of the story. E-girls can be fucking scary. They will try to do jebait or do photoshop on evidence and then fuck you. I’m not saying it is, but it could be. People are waiting for something to cancel Sinatraa at https://t.co/golWvkVG1z

After facing the negative reaction to his comments, he doubled down and continued to write: “How is it fair that someone can shout r * pe with a public figure and all the bad guys without question? The public is gaining a lot of power, the world is fucked up. “
Francesca’s comments spread quickly, with Pokimane speaking live on the air. At first, she had no idea that Dafran was a real streamer with a considerable following and believed that he was just an internet troll.
Pokimane responds to Dafran’s remarks
“I have been in this industry for so long that I am insensitive to many bulls ** t. However, and I try to give people the benefit of very strong doubt, but something you can’t ignore is as difficult as he is trying to make his perspective seem logical, he is ignoring the fact that he ultimately based this in her genre ”. she stated after reading the tweets from the Danish streamer.
“He is not saying ‘be careful who you believe on the internet’, he is specifically saying that she is a girl, so be careful because they will deceive you,” she added. “As if we were in an erotic fantasy and all the women around us were succubi.”
Anys continued his attack on Dafran, commenting that although she thinks he tried to be “skeptical” and “logical”, he only has this perspective because the accuser was a woman.
“I can promise you, as a girl who’s been in this scene for years, it’s just another reflection of the fact that we rarely get the benefit of the doubt,” she insisted. “We have to work hard to have half of someone’s credibility simply because of what is between our legs. And this is crazy. “
Dafran responds to Pokimane
During his own broadcast, Dafran responded to Pokimane’s comments, making his title on Twitch: “I keep everything I said on Twitter … and no, I’m not sexist as this human Pokimane says.”
“Pokimane calling me a sexist, I don’t give a shit. Stay f ** ked, man. It doesn’t change my opinion, ”he said live. “Just because they have 60,000 viewers or whatever, it doesn’t mean that they are right.”
“The world is fucked up if it continues like this, where we instantly believe the girl with her accusations. Like, it’s just f ** ked up. We need both sides ”, he concluded, ending his transmission.
Riot Games and Sentinels suspended Sinatraa, preventing him from playing at the Valorant Stage 1 Masters while investigating the charges.
In addition, the Overwatch League is refunding OWL tokens to players who have purchased their Alien Zarya MVP skin. Blizzard will also remove MVP badges from the skin in a future patch.
Won himself commented on the charges on March 10, when he denied assaulting his ex-girlfriend. He added that he was cooperating with the investigations.
Cloud9’s Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo will replace Sinatraa in the next Valorant Champions Tour Masters 1.
