Pokémon Coco is the latest film to join the franchise, and fans are looking forward to this jungle adventure reaching the United States after its big debut in Japan. The film, which was released in Japan on Christmas Day, has since shared some very intriguing details with fans about their protagonists. And thanks to a certain novelization of the film, the fans learned some advice that Ash received from … his father ?!
Yes that’s right! It seems that Ash Ketchum knows who the father is, and the boy remembers some advice he received from his father. Earlier this month, fans were informed by Pokémon Coco director Tetsuo Yajima that Ash’s father would link his story, and that’s because our hero received some solid advice from his father.
According to the novelization of the film, Ash has a short conversation with Coco about his father. There comes a time when Ash is trying to bond with Coco when it comes to parents, as the newcomer is at odds with Zarude, her adoptive father. It is there that Ash shares the wise words his father gave him after some local children laughed at his dreams.
“When I was little, my friends laughed at me because of my dreams. And whenever I started to get in a bad mood, my dad would tell me: ‘The map for your goals is inside you. If you give up now then your dreams will not come true. ‘”(via DogasuBackpack)
Clearly, Ash’s father knew how to inspire, as this quote is what Ash needed. The boy has not given up on his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master, and his father seems to have pushed Ash in that direction. Now, the only thing that fans need is to meet the man and hear those words first hand!
