Pokémon releases first 25th anniversary video, new logo

Pokémon releases first 25th anniversary video, new logo

January 13, 2021 02:20 by NewsDesk

The Pokémon Company officially kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration with a 2-minute video. The new video serves as a highlight for the various parts of the franchise, with almost all parts of the multimedia franchise appearing in some way. The video follows a series of Poke Balls rolling as they progress through a Rube Goldberg-style sequence, past Pokémon cards, cuddly toys and Pokémon, and video game consoles and memorabilia. The video ends with the revelation that the Pokémon Company is teaming up with Katy Perry on a new music program called P25 Music, which will release new songs throughout the year. You can check out the full video above.

As part of the anniversary celebration, the Pokémon Company also launched a new logo, showing Pikachu and the various Starter Pokémon from different games. Each set of Pokémon Starter is participating in some type of action that was unique to their region or introduced for the first time during their generation of Pokémon games. For example, the Galar Starter Pokémon is currying, while the Johto Pokémon is surrounding a Pokémon, for example. You can check the new logo below:

Finally, the Pokémon Company also released some of its future plans for the rest of the year. In addition to the P25 Music project, the Pokémon Company also announced collaborations with Build-A-Bear Workshop, General Mills, Levi’s, McDonalds, Jazwares, Scholastic, Mattel, Funko, PowerA and Wand Company. The Pokémon Trading Card Game will also launch special collections with a 25th anniversary theme, along with large cards featuring Pikachu and other Starter Pokémon. The Pokémon Company has also launched a new website hub that will serve as a central location for all festivities related to the franchise’s 25th anniversary, and will look back over all Pokémon regions, starting with the Galar region and ending with the Kanto region of the first Pokémon games.

The Pokémon Company also noted that more “birthday-related activations” are planned throughout the year for Pokémon anime, video games, mobile games and more. Other big announcements for the franchise are planned, so stay tuned on ComicBook.com to stay on top of all the big news from Pokémon.
