Pokémon GoMachop Community Day takes place on January 16, from 11 am to 5 pm, local time.

As usual on Community Days, the featured Pokémon will appear a lot in the wild, with a high chance of being brilliant.

How do I get a Shiny Machop?

Since Machop will be showing up everywhere, just tap on each Machop you see until you get a Shiny. You’ll find one sooner or later, as the Community Day Shiny rate has increased to about one in 24.

What special movement does Machamp learn when he evolves?

When he moves from 11am to 7pm on January 16, Machamp will learn Payback. This dark-type move will not affect Machamp’s invasion ability, but it will have some uses in PvP.

How can I make the most of this Community Day?

Machop Community Day has a bonus that triples the Stardust received when capturing Pokémon, so it will be worth it to pop a Star Piece when capturing the Pokémon to further increase your earnings.

The trading range will also be extended to 40 kilometers from January 15 to January 18. Trade with any friend within that distance to get rid of the 100 candy requirement to evolve Machoke to Machamp. Any Machoke you trade will be able to evolve without using candy, which is a huge advantage for anyone trying to build a robust Machamp team.

Machamp is best defined with Counter and Dynamic Punch to do gyms and raids. Return can be an OK move for PvP, as it will provide a good type of confrontation against ghost-type Pokémon.

If you are deciding which Shiny Machop to evolve at the end of the day, try using one of the new search strings. Sort your ‘mons by’recent”Using the bottom right icon and type“4 *”In the search box at the top. This will let you know if you have a Machop 100% IV. Most people will not be so lucky, so you’ll want to type “3 *”In the search box, which will show any ‘recent monster that is 80% or more. Rate them to see which one is the best and then develop your new friend!
