PlayStation shows seven new Indies for PS4, PS5 and PSVR

On the PlayStation blog, Sony has just ended a day of announcements and updates featuring a variety of independent games for PS4, PS5 and PSVR. These range from recently announced games for platforms like Nour: Play With Your Food and Where the Heart Leads, to updates on previously announced games like Heavenly Bodies and Disco Elysium: The Final Cut.

Operation: Tango, a co-op game with an asymmetrical spy theme, was announced for PS4 and PS5 this spring. The game shows players choosing to play as Angel, the agent, or Alistair, the hacker, using the pair’s complementary skills to solve complex puzzles. The highlight of the PlayStation blog focuses on the look of the game, both in the real world and on the hacker’s virtual playground.

Another game announced was Chicory: A Colorful Tale, a game where you can play like a dog with a brush that brings color back to a black and white world. Coming to PS4 and PS5, players with the new console will be able to take advantage of exclusive paint controls designed just for the DualSense controller. Chicory is due to be launched in the spring of 2021.

Nour: Play With Your Food offered an extensive blog post explaining how their mind-boggling food-based visuals can be used to create unique music scenarios. The game is published by Panic, which also published 2019’s Untitled Goose Game – which was praised for its unique and random soundtrack. Nour will arrive in the summer of 2021.

Where the Heart Leads will be released on PS4 and PS5 on July 13, 2021. The game follows a farmer who falls into a hole in time, where he discovers that he has the power to change the past, the present and the future. The narrative-based game has thousands of choices and dozens of endings, with the power of choice entirely in the player’s hands.

Announced for PSVR is the Puzzling Places game, with a launch window in the winter of 2021. The Zen game makes players solve complicated 3D puzzles, collecting scans of beautiful real-life places.

In addition to announcing new games, the indie showcase also included updates on two games already announced. The space-themed physics puzzle Heavenly Bodies has released a new game trailer showing some of its most challenging scenarios, while a post by Chris Priestman from ZA / UM gives players a little more detail on what to expect from Disco Elysium updated: The Final Cut, due March 30.
