Playboi Carti’s latest album Whole Lotta Red it’s Billboard 200’s # 1 album in 2021 – and also the rapper’s first album in the first place.

Billboard reports Whole Lotta Red moved 100,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 10,000 album sales and 90,000 streaming, resulting in 126.43 million streams on demand. The album made below HitsDailyDouble projections, which were 125,000-135,000 on December 26th. Carti expressed his appreciation for his fans after it became official that Red grabbed the first place.

Whole Lotta Red was the follow-up to Carti’s debut studio album in 2018 Die Lit with the new offer with resources from Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Future, and production by Pi’erre Bourne.

Carti was able to dethrone Taylor Swift, who retained first place in consecutive weeks with Ever. Although Swift managed to finish in second, she almost dropped to third, thanks to an increase in the Billboard 200 chart by Lil Durk The voice, rising from No. 46 to No. 3. The jump was due to the launch date of December 24, O Voice, which accumulated 23,000 units on the single day of activity that Billboard could count on for the week.

Lil Durk won his third place in the top 10, but his last project fell slightly short of his best result on the Billboard 200. That honor still belongs to Just cause you waited 2, which reached number 2.
