Planet time 2021: here’s what you need to know

Earth Hour is an annual tradition in which people turn off their lights to publicize sustainability and climate change. Started by the World Wildlife Fund, it takes place on March 27 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm local time. (And not to be confused with Earth Day)

Since then, millions of people around the world have participated. Landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Sydney Opera House, the Empire State Building, Buckingham Palace, the Colosseum and Edinburgh Castle also darkened for an hour.

The Colosseum in Rome is completely dark during the 2018 campaign.

What do you intend to do?

The goal is to bring together people who share a common goal: an environmentally friendly future.

How can people get involved?

Organizers suggest that you participate in the blackout and sign a petition demanding that political leaders act to save the planet. The site also contains a number of other actions that people can take to help alleviate climate change.
